For those who think childhood sexual molestation is rare or believe that those in power are doing everything they can to get justice for the victims, think again. This is a long article, but is worth the read if you truly care to be trauma-informed. I think every client and psychologist should read this. It contains information your media, your professors, your Facebook memes and your academia won’t tell you.
Until we start learning the real reasons why people abuse and until we face that sexual abuse is mainstream (not on the fringes of society that we used to think) and until we face that repression exists and why it exists, we will never see an end to the pandemic of childhood molestation.
I hope you will all take time out of your day to read this.
